The impact of colonial policy on the governance system of Kyrgyzstan in the late 19th - early 20th century (the case of Southern Kyrgyzstan)

This article examines the changes in the governance system of Southern Kyrgyzstan at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century under the influence of the colonial policy of the Russian Empire. It explores the impact of Russian intervention on local administrative structures, social and economic changes, as well as the response of the local population. The article focuses on the transformations in governance prompted by Russian colonial policies and analyzes their consequences for the development of the region and its people
